Employment Integration Initiatives for Refugees – Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration

Short description
The Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, through its Directorate-General for Humanitarian Assistance and the Asylum Reception System, implements ongoing training and employment programmes aimed at promoting the labour integration of refugees. These initiatives are based on personalised support pathways that include language learning, basic skills development, access to training opportunities, and entry into the labour market.
In collaboration with private sector partners from key industries—such as wholesale trade, logistics and e-commerce, hospitality and tourism, and agri-food—tailored programmes are designed to support refugee employment through talent identification, sector-specific pre-employment training, and support with housing and mobility.
The programme is supported by regular employment bulletins and includes information for employers about the legal work status of asylum seekers, beneficiaries of international protection, and those under temporary protection (including Ukrainian refugees), all of whom are authorised to work in Spain without geographical or sectoral limitations.
