Integration of people from Ukraine – recommendations

This policy paper is the result of a collaboration between five main NGOs with long-standing experience and expertise in the integration of foreigners in Slovakia and the provision of humanitarian aid. The purpose of this policy paper is to inspire all actors operating in Slovakia who aim to help and assist persons with temporary protection on a medium and long-term basis. The proposed measures serve as a strong foundation for the integration efforts of any foreigners living in Slovakia. The policy presents suggestions on how to strengthen the current structure of integration processes, how to address its weaknesses, and sets main goals for integration with regular evaluation. Communication, support to municipalities and NGOs, and specific measures related to employment, self-employment, social services, financial aid, housing, access to information and legal aid, health care, education, and vocational and language training are urgently needed.
