What Refugees Experience and How to Cope with the Situation

Short description
Immediately after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many individuals became involved in assisting those fleeing the war – whether by volunteering, providing accommodation, or otherwise interacting with them. This factsheet offers essential information for anyone helping people fleeing Ukraine. Its aim is to equip helpers with knowledge of what to expect from the situation and how to manage it alongside refugees, as well as to guide them in directing refugees to practical information. Therefore, this factsheet provides insights into what refugees are experiencing, how it manifests, and how to cope with it. It also includes practical, basic information on assisting newcomers with obtaining SIM cards or arranging temporary online education for children. This factsheet was produced in cooperation between CVEK and the Milan Šimečka Foundation.
