Supporting pupils from Ukraine in Bratislava

Short description
As part of the project, the Inclusion Centre in Bratislava, in cooperation with the Municipality of the Capital City of Bratislava, UNICEF, and the Centre for Educational Analyses, mapped the situation in Bratislava schools. Based on this, action proposals and solutions were prepared for schools attended by Ukrainian pupils. One of the first measures, informed by good practice from abroad, was to intensify and systematize psychosocial assistance, to be provided by special field workers in schools. The project developed guidelines for these workers and schools to ensure a safe space for pupils' integration. Another pilot measure involved introducing extra language support in selected schools. The project, particularly its recommendations for outreach workers, may also inspire other organizations or individuals providing psychosocial support to refugees through mentoring.
