Mentoring Programme for the Educational and Social Integration of Young Migrants in Navarra
Short description
The KIDEAK Project, implemented in Navarra (Spain), is a mentoring programme designed to support young migrants and refugees aged 18 to 23 in their educational, personal, and social integration process. The project pairs each participant with trained volunteer mentors who accompany them in developing academic and professional pathways, enhancing their autonomy, and fostering their participation in community life. Mentors provide guidance on educational opportunities, career planning, administrative procedures, and emotional wellbeing, acting as a bridge between newcomers and the host society. The programme is coordinated by public institutions and local organisations, combining formal training for mentors with a structured follow-up of mentees’ progress. KIDEAK represents a transferable and sustainable model for grassroots mentoring interventions aimed at empowering young refugees to build stable educational and professional futures in their host country.
